Greatest WM Match Ever: Round 3 (Kamala Bracket)

I should point out here that I screwed up my posting schedule a little bit. My bad. I’ve been so pre-occupied with other stuff that I didn’t stick to what I originally planned. As it is, this tourney won’t end before WM26. It will end a couple of days after. No big deal. Concept is the same. This is going up later than normal (this is going up at 10am instead of 7am like I usually do). It’s been a busy time, but this will still be up for 48 hours like all the polls have been. Here are the results from this bracket in round two:

1. Undertaker vs. Michaels @ WM25 (84%) d. 4. Angle vs. Benoit @ WM17 (16%)
2. Benoit vs. HHH vs. Michaels @ WM20 (72%) d. 3. Warrior vs. Savage @ WM7 (28%)

The two matches feature Shawn Michaels. What one is better?

THE KAMALA BRACKET – ROUND 3

#1) The Undertaker vs. Shawn Michaels @ WM25
The 2009 match of the year pretty much all over the place saw the two longest tenured performers in WWE face off at the 25th Mania. The result was a show stealing match thanks to some of the best nearfall sequences ever and that one awesome facial expression from the Undertaker where he was like, “WHAT THE FUCK?” A classic in every sense of the word. Couldn’t find the whole match, so we’ll go with the awesome video package about it.

VERSUS

#2) Chris Benoit vs. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels for the World Title @ WM20
The best triple threat match ever? A lot of people would say yes. This was Benoit’s best shot at winning the World Title and he’d have to do against two main event regulars. It was the coming out party for the Rabid Wolverine with a hot New York crowd behind him every step of the way.

Here’s the poll…

Tomorrow we start the final four. Two one seeds are facing off as it will be Hart/Austin vs. Angle/Michaels in the first semifinal.

    No contest.
I do think though that, seeing as the tourney won’t end til after WM26, Undertaker Vs HBK II will beat it.

What if we have better match at WM 26 than all you have listed in this tournament (which is great, BTW? So try to finish it before WM 26 or else whole purpose of this will be defeated

    @Brian aka thefifthdoctor

I agree completely. No-one expected HBK to kick out of the tombstone – now everyone is going to expect it. I really hope we’re wrong!

Misread your post – thought you said you didn’t think Taker vs HBK II will beat it :) I don’t think it will. I hope I’M wrong!

If HBK/Taker at WM26 is an epic we’ll throw up a poll asking the people! I’m poll happy lately.

I love the triple threat and at the time I never marked out harder for a match in my life, but I liked HBK/Taker @ WM26 more. That gets my vote.

yes taker v micheals was a classic, i feel the main reason its likely to win is that its because it is still fresh in the minds of everyone, bret v austin should win this 1, greatest match ever

Taker vs. Michaels II, CM Punk vs. Mysterio, Edge vs. Jericho, all of these are possibilities for great matches that might’ve been included in this tournament.
I don’t think Punk and Mysterio will get enough time to accomplish that, and I don’t think Edge and Jericho will either, but anything can happen.
This is truly the greatest WM card in a long time.

If i was going to watch Michaels/Taker again, I wouldn’t just watch the match. I’d watch the entire build up from the moment where Shawn beat JBL for the right to challenge Taker.

It was fantastic, with Shawn getting the best of him over and over again.

Then you had the entrances. Takers standard entrance which is better than most peoples special mania ones.. and Shawn acting like jesus or something.

Then the match. Which was as close to perfect as an athlete/big man match with those stipulations could be.

In my opinion, this is the best wrestlemania match and quite possibly the best wwf/wwe match of all time.

I honestly don’t know what match I like the best. I don’t feel as strongly about Hart/Austin as a lot of you guys do. I know it was awesome, and it was the best match at WM 13, but I just don’t have as much attachment to it. Micheals/Angle, Micheals/Taker, and Savage/Steamboat are probably the 3 best in my opinion.

I agree those 3 martches are great. I also loved Hart/Piper at WM 8 and Flair/Savage also at WM 8.

These two are awesome classics. and I loved the Triple Threat and nothing to me has come close to touching it, but HBK vs Taker I? Oh Hell Yeah!

I voted for the triple threat, but I do note I refer to HBK/Taker as the match of the decade, so I dont mind if it wins.

Reason being is the 3way dance was not only a wonderful match, but the moment afterwards was possibly one of the most beautiful moments in wrestling at the time it happened. Regardless of what happened later, I’ll never forget how happy that match and conclusion made me. It really was the best way you could have ever ended WM20. Took them both near 20 years to get there. :)

For Taker/HBK last year, I had been away at a work training course all week so I DVR’d Maina. The day I came home was my b’day, I had visited family on the way, was full of a cold and when I got home (10pm) I wanted to go to bed.

Instead, I sucked it up, grabbed a beer and sat down to enjoy my most anticipated match ever and OMG what a ‘b’day present’! It completely made my day and made me feel 10x better!

This is my favourite match of all time, and the difference between this match and every other ***** match is probably my personal circumstances when I viewed this.

P.S. for those of you living in America, I live in NZ and Maina is on Monday 2pm…. hence while I was away and had to wait almost a week without checking the results! That was pure evil!
