The John Report Podcast #6 09/01/10
This is the 6th TJR podcast recorded on Tuesday August 31st. The topics this week include a discussion on Raw, a rundown on all the guys from NXT season 2 and a discussion of the WWE’s plan to eliminate some of the title belts so that they have four total (WWE , IC, Tag, Womens). Of course we also answered questions like usual. The other thing is we recorded this while the NXT season 2 finale was going on so there are a lot of reactions to what we saw on there. For example, our reaction when the Bellas were announced as trainers we both flipped out a bit. We went 61 minutes in runtime this time.
Quote of the show comes on at about the 29:30 as we encourage Kaval to do things during his NXT celebration. We make a great commentary team. Or terrible. Up to you to decide.

We are up on ITunes, too. And the RSS feed is available too if you want to subscribe to that. If you don’t see it on iTunes email Apple and request it to be updated! At this point only two of them are up. Jason’s been emailing them a lot and we’re trying to get it fixed. He thinks we have a solution this time. So fingers crossed, it’ll be up soon.
Also check out the site of my co-host Jason Lynch at thesmallpackage.blogspot.com for his take on the wrestling business along with his buddies. They have links to their podcasts on there too.
See ya next week for episode number seven!

good stuff john
NICE, IMA LISTEN 2THIS ONE A BIT LATER…..ANY POSSIBILITY OF GETTING YOUR PODCAST ON THE ZUNE MARKETPLACE??? NOT EVERYONE HAS ITUNES AND ITS ALWAYS GREAT 2 EXPAND
Hearing the reaction to some of the NXT season 3 trainers was worth it. Although, I do legitimately believe that Vickie with a massive female bodyguard could lead to something, but the writers will screw that up probably.
As for title unification, I’d be all for it if it meant they’d actually spend time developing the lower and mid card feuds…but I’m sure they’d just focus on title feuds and throw some crap together at the last second.
Gonna listen right now but I wanted to let you know I emailed iTunes with my annoyance at their ineptitude and while apologetic, they were less than helpful. Hope you guys are updated soon.
Addressed to every fanboy who thinks Cena is a company man and a good ol’ bean.

– Vince McMahon
noted in a recent interview with the Boston Herald that he held a talent meeting a few years ago urging his performers to “reach for the brass ring” regardless of whom they have to step over. He particularly recalled John Cena approaching him at the end of the meeting to say, ‘I’m your man.’
The interview caught the attention of an anonymous wrestler who attended the meeting. He said there were actually five wrestlers who came over to McMahon following the meeting to say they were the right man for the job.
“The only difference is that Cena did his ‘stepping over guys’ in the locker room more than the ring,” said the wrestler.
The anonymous wrestler feels McMahon was looking for a “backstabbing asshole/stooge” to serve as his top WWE Superstar.
“It has zero to do with in-ring talent,” the wrestler said. “Cena stepped on guys like the Spirit Squad and others who were only there for less than six months.”
– All six NXT Rookie Divas can be found on Twitter: AJ Lee | Aksana | Aloisia | Jamie Keyes | Maxine | Naomi.
Of the four newly launched accounts — AJ Lee, Aksana, Maxine and Naomi — Lee has garnered the most followers thus far.
John thanks for answering my question. Your answers were about dead with what I was thinking. I was hoping that you would pick Trish Stratus and Mickie James as they are the best female wrestlers in the past decade. I was thinking of Victoria as my third choice but your pick of Lita made more sense. Lita did do a lot during her WWE run and brought different flavor to the table. Lita is better that Victoria in the ring too. I love your comment encouraging Kaval to grab Laycool’s asses since they were about to come out of those dresses. I think that the perfect way for the WWE to split up Laycool is to have Michelle and Layla over Kaval. Thanks again for answering my question.
Sorry, I ment to say “I think that the perfect way for the WWE to split up Laycool is to have Michelle and Layla to fight over Kaval.”
Damn it, I’m buying a new keyboard that knows how to spell.
at least NXT 3 will be better than the Diva Search.. and please do more Quotes Of The Week
What do you think after the unification they bring back the cruiserweight with Bourne, Kaval, Yoshi Tatsu etc… ?
@jake
They need to if they going keep everyone they have on the roster. Maybe a TV title or bring back to Euporean title.
@Billy James
Just get firefox.
These podcasts are too damn long. Oh well.
Firefox is a million times better than internet explorer or google chrome or aol.
Hey John and Jason,
No exaggeration, this podcast helps get me through the first part of the week…it always gives me something to look forward to, haha
I know you’ve touched on some of the ridiculous rumors that circulate through the IWC, etc. but for you and other readers, have there been any rumors that you thought at the time to be over the top and ridiculous, but then it turned out they were true?
there ya go
Good jarb as always !
also i find myself strangely attracted to aloisia/ Isis the amazon.
@LTizzle
I know what you mean
John, I understand your take on The Rock not being on Raw. However, to say not advertising him would be stupid, correct me if I’m wrong, but the last few times he’s been on Raw, it’s been unadvertised, hasn’t it?
It’s nothing major, but if WWE wanted to bring back the appeal of yesteryear, that would be a good way to do it. People used to tune into Raw and Nitro because it was spontaneous and you never knew who was gonna show up or what would happen. If they brought that back, it could easily bring some of the “mark out” moments back to the weekly TV shows.
Other than that little bit of opinion, I loved the rest of it. I’ve been downloading these things and putting them on my Ipod to listen to on my hour drive to work. Keep it up buddy!
John/Jason:
Thanks for answering my question and just to correct you Jason, you do pronounce the J in my last name, just think Mick Jagger, not Jagermeister. But good job fellas, the podcasts are great.
