Live from Phoenix, Arizona this is the Raw Deal…
We get the usual intro. Isn’t it time to get a new theme song? I’m so sick of Nickelback. I’m sure a lot of people are, but in Canada it’s even worse since they come from this country. I’ve had people write me about a lack of pyro at WWE shows. I’ve read that they made an internal decision to cut back on the amount of pyro they use. It’s a money thing.
This is a discussion post for tonight’s edition of WWE Raw. It’s the last Raw before the Royal Rumble. I’ll have the Raw Deal posted on Tuesday morning or early afternoon. On Friday we’ll have a Royal Rumble preview, on Sunday I’ll be doing live coverage of the Royal Rumble and next Monday I’ll write about Raw live.

They started the show with a video tribute of Martin Luther King Jr. in honor of this day that we honor him. It’s a video they air every year. On a lesser note, the Nickelback Raw intro song started up from there. When are they going to change that song?

Live from Corpus Christi, Texas this is the Raw Deal…
They started the show with a video package from last week with Kane trying to drag Zack Ryder “to hell” with John Cena saving him at the end. Kane started the show with a promo. They had the red lights on to make the situation more ominous I guess. Kane cut the same promo he did a few weeks ago where he tells us that we should embrace the hate. He says that when we chant “Cena sucks” we’re actually saying that we suck. No, I’m pretty sure it means that Cena sucks. It’s not hard to interpret. He continues his boring psychoanalysis by blaming the people for Zack Ryder being popular while I wait for somebody to come out. Kane’s fine with me, but he should talk less when he has the mask on. It’s not complicated.
This is a discussion post for tonight’s edition of Monday Night Raw. I won’t be writing about the show live this week. I’ll have the Raw Deal posted on Tuesday at some point. Enjoy the show!

The beginning of the show had Michael Cole narrate over a graphic that promoted CM Punk vs. Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Title later in the show. Then they had a video package for the Kane/Cena segment from last week. It was really well done as usual.

Live from Chicago, Illinois this is the Raw Deal…
I was excited for this one. Chicago is one of WWE’s best crowds. I figured they would start with the hometown hero CM Punk. They did…sort of. It was CM Punk’s music except instead of the Punk man himself it was interim Raw GM John Laurinaitis wearing Punk’s shirt over his suit. He even did Punk’s routine at the top of the ramp except with his own saying: “It’s Dynamic Dude time!” I’m making that part up. He said he was there to honor CM Punk in his hometown.
This is for discussion about this week’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw airing live from Chicago, which is the hometown of WWE Champion CM Punk. I’ll be back on Tuesday morning with the Raw Deal as always. For those that like when I write the Raw Deal live, the good news is that this is the last Monday Night Football game of the current NFL season, so from January through August I’ll be writing the Raw Deal live most weeks. The much hyped January 2 edition of Raw will be a live Raw Deal for sure. Enjoy the show!

Live from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania this is the Raw Deal…
The show started with CM Punk announcing that he had won at TLC to retain his WWE Title. There were loud chants for him right away. Philly’s a big market for indy wrestling and in particular Ring of Honor where Punk spent a lot of time, so he was very over with the crowd. He put over the physicality of the WWE Title match from TLC, saying that even though he was sore from going through a table he was still the WWE Champion.

I’m writing this like I would write a live Raw Deal because I am watching it on tape delay on my DVR after watching my St. Louis Rams get crushed on Monday night. Live from Norfolk, Virginia this is the Raw Deal…
They had a quick video package about the Slammy Awards to start the show. I’m glad they had a brief Owen Hart clip in it because his speech at the 1997 Slammys is one of the best Slammy moments ever.
