WWE Elimination Chamber 2012 Preview
By John Canton, Andrew Johnson & Christian Michael

John Canton: Welcome to the Elimination Chamber preview by the TJR crew. This year’s February PPV features two Elimination Chamber matches with both the WWE Title and World Title on the line. There’s also what the Ambulance Match that will likely be the blowoff match in the John Cena/Kane “Embrace the Hate” feud. Does this year’s Elimination Chamber event excite you?

WWE Royal Rumble 2012 Preview
By John Canton, Andrew Johnson & Christian Michael

John Canton: I’ve always loved the Royal Rumble pay per view. I showed that love last year when I recapped every Royal Rumble match. The concept of the match is wonderful. Even if you think you know what might happen, there’s always a very good chance that something crazy will happen. I didn’t think Cena would win in 2008 or Edge in 2010 because they both made surprise returns. Could there be a surprise winner this year? You never know. The sad thing about the Rumble is that the winner doesn’t really get to “main event” WrestleMania anymore (especially this year), but it’s still one of my favorite matches and I know I’m going to enjoy it like I do every year. Right now there are only four announced matches. I’d expect some kind of midcard match to be added as a buffer to some of the big ones on the card, but I’m not going to guess what they will be.

TheJohnReport.net Staff Predictions for 2012

Posted by John Canton - January 4, 2012 - Columns, John Canton, TJR Staff, wwe

Welcome to the first TJR staff column of 2012. Instead of doing staff PPV previews, we’ll be doing staff columns once in a while. How often we do them is based on when we get ideas and of course, the feedback. The basic premise of this staff column is simple: Offer up five predictions for the wrestling world in 2012. It can be about WWE, TNA, ROH or anything you’d like as long as it relates to the wrestling business. Everybody’s been given a world limit to prevent this from being super long, but we assure you that you’ll get plenty of different opinions in this column.

In the year two thousaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand…twelve. That’s a Conan O’Brien reference. Enjoy.

WWE Tables, Ladders & Chairs Preview by TJR Staff

John Canton: Welcome to the WWE TLC PPV preview written by the staff of TheJohnReport.net. As always, there will be 14 of us guiding you through Sunday’s PPV. This will be the last time that all 14 of us write a preview. It was a fun idea when I came up with it in the summer, but based on the feedback and the amount of editing that I have to do for it I’ve decided to wish the staff preview the best in its future endeavors. In the new year it will most likely be myself and one or two others. We’ll figure it out by the time the Royal Rumble gets here.

WWE Survivor Series Preview by TJR Staff

Note: No Canton’s Corner column this weekend. Will return next weekend.

John Canton: Welcome to the WWE Survivor Series PPV preview written by the staff of TheJohnReport.net. As always, there will be 14 of us guiding you through Sunday’s PPV. It’s a big one because The Rock is back in the ring for the first time since WrestleMania 20 in 2004 and he’s teaming with his rival John Cena in New York City of all times. Personally, I’m very excited about it. I expect a really hot crowd, some babyfaces getting booed and a show where a lot of talent steps up to deliver the goods.

John: Welcome to the WWE Vengeance PPV preview written by the staff of TheJohnReport.net. As always, there will be 14 of us guiding you through Sunday’s PPV. This is the third WWE PPV in the last five weeks. Thankfully the next one is about a month away in November as the big Survivor Series event looms on the horizon from New York City. For some reason, instead of announcing only four or five matches like they’ve been doing lately, WWE has actually promoted a full card this time around. There are eight matches scheduled for Vengeance with Dolph Ziggler having two matches.

The show is headlined by the first ever Triple Threat Hell in a Cell match with John Cena defending the WWE Title against CM Punk & Alberto Del Rio while Smackdown’s World Champion Mark Henry defends against Randy Orton. There are three other confirmed matches on the card with a fourth match rumored, so we’ll preview all six below.

John Canton: Welcome to the third monthly TJR staff PPV preview. This month we’re here to talk about Night of Champions. The entire TJR staff comes together in one massive column to tell you who we think are going to win the matches. We know it’s a long read, but thanks to the quick takes by up to 14 different writers it doesn’t take too long to sift through it all. All six titles in WWE are on the line at Night of Champions plus the Triple H vs. Punk match, as far as we know. Could more be added? Sure, but the seven match card seems highly likely too.
