Welcome everyone to the 2012 Elimination Live Blog/Review. I’ll be covering the Pay Per View since John is out. This is my first time reviewing a show, so bear with me. The final play by play is posted, and I’ve given an analysis of each match. Give it a read, and post your thought on the show in the comments!

John Canton: Welcome to the Elimination Chamber preview by the TJR crew. This year’s February PPV features two Elimination Chamber matches with both the WWE Title and World Title on the line. There’s also what the Ambulance Match that will likely be the blowoff match in the John Cena/Kane “Embrace the Hate” feud. Does this year’s Elimination Chamber event excite you?
Congratulations, You’ve Won the Royal Rumble! Part One

WWE’s last PPV offering was the Royal Rumble. I think it’s fair to say that the match that carries its namesake is one we all look forward to. The Royal Rumble match sets the winner on a road towards destiny as he earns a World Title Match at WrestleMania. The first four years of the event did not provide such an opportunity for the winners. Then in 1992, amid chaos and controversy surrounding the WWF Championship, the title was declared vacant and it was announced that the winner would become the new WWF Champion. Starting in 1993 and all the way until the present day the winner of the Royal Rumble Match would be granted a Championship Match at the biggest event of the year. In this two part column I will be looking at what winning the Royal Rumble Match has done for the winner’s career. Since the match started having title implications in 1992, that’s where we will start.

They aired a video package hyping that the winner of the Royal Rumble gets to go to WrestleMania. Lots of people do, but for now we should only believe the winner does.

WWE Royal Rumble 2012 Preview

John Canton: I’ve always loved the Royal Rumble pay per view. I showed that love last year when I recapped every Royal Rumble match. The concept of the match is wonderful. Even if you think you know what might happen, there’s always a very good chance that something crazy will happen. I didn’t think Cena would win in 2008 or Edge in 2010 because they both made surprise returns. Could there be a surprise winner this year? You never know. The sad thing about the Rumble is that the winner doesn’t really get to “main event” WrestleMania anymore (especially this year), but it’s still one of my favorite matches and I know I’m going to enjoy it like I do every year. Right now there are only four announced matches. I’d expect some kind of midcard match to be added as a buffer to some of the big ones on the card, but I’m not going to guess what they will be.

They had a “Twas the Night Before Christmas” like beginning with voiceover guy narrating a tale that was relatable to the matches at tonight’s TLC PPV. It was pretty good. Very creative. I love the WWE production team.

John Canton: Welcome to the WWE TLC PPV preview written by the staff of TheJohnReport.net. As always, there will be 14 of us guiding you through Sunday’s PPV. This will be the last time that all 14 of us write a preview. It was a fun idea when I came up with it in the summer, but based on the feedback and the amount of editing that I have to do for it I’ve decided to wish the staff preview the best in its future endeavors. In the new year it will most likely be myself and one or two others. We’ll figure it out by the time the Royal Rumble gets here.
I covered Survivor Series live. This is not a full play by play of the event, but I covered all the major happenings and have plenty of analysis to go along with it. Enjoy.

The video package showcases the history of the Survivor Series since it’s the 25th anniversary of the event. The main hype was about Rock & Cena “Never Before Never Again” as you might expect. I’m not sure if I like the theme song.

There’s a soft spot in my heart for Survivor Series, the unloved child of the “big four” begotten by the brainchild of Vince McMahon. Sure, the Rumble is always the most fun time of the year, Wrestlemania is Wrestlemania, and Summerslam has reclaimed its former glory over the past couple of years. Survivor Series is such a black sheep that Vince McMahon threatened to cancel it on a conference call with WWE stockholders in 2010! In a world where everything changes at the push of a button, it’s nice to know that tradition still exists somewhere.

It’s a big one because The Rock is back in the ring for the first time since WrestleMania 20 in 2004 and he’s teaming with his rival John Cena in New York City of all times. Personally, I’m very excited about it. I expect a really hot crowd, some babyfaces getting booed and a show where a lot of talent steps up to deliver the goods.
