Monday Headlines: This Chris Benoit Movie Is Going To Be A Real Killer

December 5th, 2011 44 comments

Once upon a time there was a well respected professional wrestler that lost his mind (whether it be due to drugs or chair shots or if you’re a moron, Kevin Sullivan) and then murdered his wife and child. It was terrible, tragic, and put a black mark on the wrestling industry that will probably never go away. Professional wrestling has had a long history, but this was undoubtedly its darkest day. So, obviously it’s the perfect material for Hollywood to capitalize on and take advantage of.

Fireside Chat #5
By Mike Aires & Marc B.

Aires:  It’s been a while.  Never heard from you when I was up in New York.  What gives?  Loved it up there though.  I may be from Oklahoma but I’m a city boy, and I could totally live within an hour or so of NYC.

Fozzie:  I had to work that whole weekend. I had no time for anything. But I will be in Manhattan Sunday for Survivor Series, so that should be fun.

Thursday Headlines: Shane Douglas Is Angry

November 10th, 2011 37 comments

ECW was a fun wrestling alternative  in the mid to late 90′s, and it helped jumped start the careers of many future top tier talent in WWE and the old WCW. If ECW could be blamed for anything though, it would be that they might glorified hardcore violence a little too much in the eyes of the viewing public. That, and they were responsible for giving Shane Douglas a career, something I really haven’t forgiven them for.

Monday Headlines: Hacker? I Don’t Even KNOW Her!

November 7th, 2011 17 comments

In case you don’t recognize it, the above image was the home screen of TNA’s official website yesterday around the time the Patriots decided that playing professional football wasn’t really something they wanted to do with their lives.

Monday Headlines: Reviews For The Reunion Are Not Kind

October 24th, 2011 57 comments

If you’ve seen the trailer for The Reunion than you probably learned a few things about the film. It has gun play, hot girls, and that guy from Can’t Hardly Wait. It also has John Cena, sans NEVER GIVE UP t-shirt although I doubt he manages to give up in this film, because John Cena doesn’t give up even if he has to share the screen with a girl that once got wheelbarrowed by Jason Statham on screen. Try following that performance, mister “Master of Thugonomics”.

What you probably didn’t learn about the film by watching the preview is that apparently, it’s a sack of crap. But come on, is anyone really that surprised?

What’s the Impact? by Mike Aires & Marc B.

What’s the IMPACT?
By Mike Aires & Marc B.

Welcome to the first of what will hopefully be a monthly column dedicated to that “other” promotion. TNA is the second largest wrestling promotion in the States, and with all the love this site gives out to the WWE on a daily basis, we currently only have one column a week dedicated to reviewing, analyzing, comparing, and just overall B.S’in about TNA/Impact Wrestling.

Wednesday Headlines: Fit Finlay Released by WWE

March 30th, 2011 63 comments

Irony?

Wow, Sad Kitty has been busy lately.

The latest victim to fall at the hands of WWE’s political correctness era has been long time road agent and former Superstar Finlay, who was released after an incident at a house show involving The National Guard, the national anthem, and The Miz cutting a heel promo. If you think those three things are a good mix, you either hate America, or you’re Fit Finlay.

Thursday Headlines: The Great Khali is “Outsourcing” His “Talent.” ZING!

March 24th, 2011 21 comments

In case you didn’t think The Great Khali could become any less likable, he’s about to get help from the only Indian import more disastrous than himself; NBC’s “Outsourced.” For those of you who don’t know about that turd of a show, it’s centered around a white guy running a call center in India. And, he’s the boss of a group of Indian mis-fits. And, not surprisingly, its been widely panned as being a racist fish-out-of-water concept, and it fucking sucks. To get some insight on the episode Khali makes a guest appearance on, check out this interview WWE.com did with Parvesh Cheena, the guy who plays fat Indian guy on the show;

TJR: Thoughts on Jeff Hardy on TNA last night

TJR: Thoughts on Jeff Hardy on TNA last night
By John Canton

In case you missed it, Jeff Hardy showed up in no condition to perform during the main event of TNA’s Victory Road PPV last night. He ended up losing his World Title match to Sting in a “match” that went about 90 seconds. The word last night was that Sting refused to work with Hardy because he was unsafe due to being intoxicated or on some kind of drug. I’m not going to speculate on what it was. I saw it, though, and he was not working or anythiing like that. He was on something.

Today we see this report at PWInsider.com, which is a reliable source, saying: “We’ve heard from numerous sources that the decision was made to send Jeff Hardy home from this week’s set of Impact tapings.” What that means is TNA is taping 3 weeks of TV in the next three days. Jeff Hardy won’t be on any of those shows. I agree with the decision. This is just a start of a whole can of worms being opened, though. There’s the bigger picture.

Friday Headlines: Bret Hart Really Likes Hulk Hogan Too

Remember on Monday when I posted that piece the Honky Tonk Man wrote about how he thinks Hulk Hogan completely sucks? Well, the rest of the week hasn’t been that great for the Hulkster either.

Friday Headlines: This Is the Greatest Thing I’ve Ever Seen

February 11th, 2011 28 comments

It’s Friday and there’s not a whole lot of news today, so I thought I’d keep it light. I know I’m a little late to the party talking about this video, but I needed to do some research before I commented on it. That being said, I’ve been all over the Internet and this is officially the greatest thing I’ve ever seen happen in a wrestling ring. If I had enough time I could probably write a thesis on why this video is the perfect allegory for the wrestling business. It’s that wonderful.

TNA Impact 09/02/10 by Dr. Money

September 3rd, 2010 96 comments

Welcome back Money-acs to the TNA Impact Review. It is now September, football is in the air and it’s time for some pennant race baseball. The only thing that’s missing is a quality wrestling show, something this week has lacked thus far. Let’s see if TNA can turn that around.

Today’s episode of TNA Impact is titled “10.10.10”, whatever the hell that means.

The show kicks off with Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff making their way down to the ring. They are with some smoking hot woman named Miss Tesmacher (sp?). I’ve heard of her but never seen her until now, she’s leave your wife and kids hot, wow. Hogan wants to call out each of the semi-finalists in the TNA Championship Tournament. Mike Tenay reminds us that later tonight Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy will team up to take of The Pope and Mr. Anderson. The teammates will be squaring off against each other in semi-final matches this Sunday at No Surrender. Once they’re all in the ring Hogan tells them whoever wins the TNA Championship needs to raise the bar because they can’t have what happened to RVD happen again. Bischoff gets a chance to speak and says the tag team match for tonight is “controversial” but it’s done to see which of the four are worthy of being champion. Through all of this, Abyss makes his way ringside with Janice in hand. Abyss gets in the ring and says the “they” he refers to is neither EV 2.0 nor Fortune. He says they are ready for their revelation and have even picked a date 10/10/10, guess that’s where tonight’s title comes from. Abyss says on 10/10/10 they are going to take over TNA and turn it upside down and they will get rid of Ditsy, oops, I mean Dixie Carter, Hogan and Bischoff. He points to The Pope and Hardy and says “and you.” Tenay says they have to take a commercial and Hardy punches Abyss as we go to commercial. What the hell is this whole “they” thing? It’s probably another one of TNA’s feeble attempts to create buzz.
