The John Report Podcast #19 12/15/10

December 15th, 2010 9 comments

After a technical snafu last week this is the 19th TJR podcast recorded on Tuesday, December 14th sponsored by clickwrestle.com. I am “Classy” John Canton and I was joined as always by my buddy “The Other Guy” Jason Lynch. We also had a third man this week in fellow TJR writer David K. This week’s podcast consisted of talk about The Slammy’s, the TLC PPV on Sunday, each guy giving three predictions for 2011 and of course we bring it home with the shoutouts. It’s 93 minutes of goodness. At least we think so. We’re a bit biased.

TJR Podcast Delay

November 24th, 2010 7 comments

Sorry folks, but the Podcast isn’t going to be up until later tonight. Jason and I hit a bit of a snag, but hopefully its all worked out and we can get this thing recorded soon. Hopefully we’ll have the NXT review up soon so you have something to tide you over.

Here is what will be discussed this week in the Podcast:
Survivor Series Talkin’
Raw Speakin’
WWE Firing Blabbin’
TNA Yakin’
Top 5 fired wrestlers to be awesome elsewhere

What does all of this mean? You’ll have to tune in later to find out.

Have a good Wednesday everyone, and we hope to have this done for tonight.

UPDATE! The technological snag could not be overcome, so the Podcast was canceled. Please accept this video as my apology.

The John Report Podcast #15 11/03/10

November 3rd, 2010 9 comments

This is the 15th TJR podcast recorded on Tuesday, November 3rd sponsored by clickwrestle.com. I am “Classy” John Canton and I was joined as always by my buddy “The Other Guy” Jason Lynch. This week we were joined by my buddy Corey Allen of RadioTKO.com to talk about the world of wrestling. Corey joined us for the first half of the show where we discussed Raw, Survivor Series, the possible end of the PG rating and a top five list of our favorite Raw guest hosts/stars. Then we say goodbye to Corey and bring it home with the Q&A as well as the shoutouts. Did I sing this week? No. My voice wasn’t up to it. Maybe next week. Key word is maybe. The show was 84 minutes this week, which I believe is the longest we’ve had so far. It’s like the Raw overrun. You just never know when it might end!

Ask Questions for TJR Podcast

October 19th, 2010 40 comments

The Raw Deal is coming up a little later. For now, though, you can ask questions for tonight’s recording of The John Report podcast. Just post them below and my co-host Jason “The Other Guy” Lynch will read a bunch of them for the 30 minutes in the second half of the show like we do every week.

Keep it wrestling related, but if you want to ask about movies or TV or something like that to venture into different subjects that’d be cool too.

The John Report Podcast #7 09/08/10

September 8th, 2010 13 comments

This is the 7th TJR podcast recorded on Tuesday, September 7th. I was joined as always by my buddy Jason Lynch. The topics this week include a discussion on Raw including some talk about the many things that were screwed up on the show. However, it was a good show and we talk about what made it work. We also talked at length about the great Angle/Hardy match from TNA’s No Surrender that also involved one of the weirdest finishes ever. Other topics include the booking team in TNA being reminiscent to the crew that killed WCW a decade ago and our thoughts on Jericho’s future in WWE. We wrapped it up by answering many questions from the commenters here on the site. We went 62 minutes in run-time this time.

On top of all this, John tries to console Jason over the loss of Jason’s girl Aloisia being removed from NXT. We thought the 5’4″ Jason would be a perfect match with the 6’9″ Aloisia, but now she’s not on NXT and the poor guy is sad. Hopefully the podcast cheered him up.

The John Report Podcast #6 09/01/10

September 1st, 2010 23 comments

This is the 6th TJR podcast recorded on Tuesday August 31st. The topics this week include a discussion on Raw, a rundown on all the guys from NXT season 2 and a discussion of the WWE’s plan to eliminate some of the title belts so that they have four total (WWE , IC, Tag, Womens). Of course we also answered questions like usual. The other thing is we recorded this while the NXT season 2 finale was going on so there are a lot of reactions to what we saw on there. For example, our reaction when the Bellas were announced as trainers we both flipped out a bit. We went 61 minutes in runtime this time.

Quote of the show comes on at about the 29:30 as we encourage Kaval to do things during his NXT celebration. We make a great commentary team. Or terrible. Up to you to decide.

Listen below:

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Download: Right click & select ‘Save Target As’

Or download the file via megaupload at http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WUFUIT9H and you can save it wherever you want.

Please let us know what you think. We’d really appreciate it. I’m excited about doing more of these, but I need feedback to get better at it because it’s a new venture for me. I’m told there are some audio issues. It should be noted that my microphone cost $20 at Wal-Mart. Maybe I’ll get the receipt and upgrade to a $40 one since I’m gonna do this weekly now. This is what I do for you people! Haha. Enjoy.
