WTF! TNA Impact Wrestling 02/02/12
By Marc B

‘Ello, ‘ello, ‘ello, what’s all this then? It’s time for Impact on the road in jolly old England. I have been looking forward to this week’s show, as I am a big fan of TNA taking their show on the road. It makes the product seem relevant and adds a sense of freshness. So how did they do? Let’s see shall we? Read more…

The Sunday Sharpshooter: The Problem With Nepotism by Thomas Briggs

February 5th, 2012 22 comments

I don’t often talk about happenings outside of the WWE, but that doesn’t mean I only watch Vince McMahon’s promotion.  This has been a great week for professional wrestling.  Raw was excellent, and saw the seeds planted for a Punk vs. Jericho feud, as well as the returns of Triple H and the Undertaker.  Despite this intrigue, I feel more compelled to talk about TNA.  Or IMPACT!  Or whatever the hell it’s being called right now.  Not because of their above-average television show this week, but rather because of the most blatant nepotism the industry has seen since the days of territories.  I’m of course speaking of Eric and Garett Bischoff.

Ring Ka King Review – Episodes 1 and 2 by Siddhartha Sengupta

January 31st, 2012 49 comments

Note from John: Ring Ka King is a TNA produced project that takes place in India. They air episodes on the Colors TV Network every Saturday & Sunday. The first shows aired this weekend. Reviewing the show for the site is Siddharta Sengupta, who lives in India and can offer a lot of insight on the culture over there while also recapping what happened. Below are his reviews of the first two shows. At the end of the recaps I’ve added youtube links to the shows if you’d like to see for yourself.

WTF: TNA Impact Wrestling 01/26/12
By Marc B.

Welcome to another edition of WTF: Impact Review. The last two weeks have been surprisingly good showings for Impact Wrestling, highlighted by the fantastic Aries/Shelley promo that you should watch in case you missed it, and that can be found here.

The traditional opening video package this week is about the main event picture, which I love right now. I have a feeling this all leads to a triple threat or a four-way match, with Bully Ray, at Against All Odds. I’m cool with that.

Monday Headlines: Shane Douglas is Completely Delusional

By Jacob Lindsey

Shane Douglas recently did an interview where he talked about his Extreme Reunion show on April 28 in Philadelphia, PA. This isn’t just a reunion show, but a revival of the spirit of ECW in a new promotion that will be led by the Target hardlines manager (or whatever) himself. Uuuuuuuggggggggghhhhhhhh. Read more…

WTF: TNA IMPACT REVIEW FOR 1/19/12
By Marc B.

Welcome everybody to your Sunday delight, your fix of mediocrity, the latest edition of WTF! I want to congratulate James Storm on the birth of his new son, Mason James. He was born earlier this week, and is already more talented than Garett Bischoff. On with the review!

Impact opens the same way as it does every week, with a recap of whatever the main event feud is, so they recap the Jeff Hardy/Bobby Roode matches from Genesis and Impact last week. I didn’t see the Genesis match, but last week’s match was fantastic. If you haven’t seen it, you should. Even the ending was done ok, because it was foreshadowed earlier in the evening, so it fit.

Wednesday Headlines: Evan Bourne Suspended (AGAIN)

January 18th, 2012 54 comments

Yesterday we reported that Evan Bourne has once again been suspended from the WWE for violating their wellness policy. This time it’s 60 days instead of 30, and if he does it again he gets a nice tout bag filled with some assorted candies.

Oh wait, no he doesn’t, he gets f**king fired.

Monday Headlines: Ole Anderson Doesn’t Give A @#&!

January 16th, 2012 29 comments

Ole Anderson spoke about his lack of involvement in the upcoming induction of the Four Horsemen to the WWE Hall of Fame. Not that the Hall of Fame actually matters, but two or three people are wondering why Barry Windham is involved, instead of Ole. I think it would be fun to watch all of the living former Horsemen be inducted, because I imagine their speeches would be quite comical. And I think it would be hilarious to watch Jeff Jarrett try to plug TNA in the 19 seconds they gave him to speak. He would use 12 of those to spell his name. Anyway, read what Ole has to say after the jump. Read more…

WTF: TNA Impact Wrestling 01/12/12
By Marc B.

Well, here we are on the cusp of another Impact review. This is the first episode after the Genesis PPV, so let’s see what Dixie and Company have in store for us, shall we?

Impact opens with a video package of the main event from Genesis, and how Bobby Roode had to get himself DQ’d to keep the title. They also mention that Bobby Roode is the most selfish man in wrestling.  Again. We get it. That leads us to Mr. Selfish to come out.

Diasterpiece Theatre: Mr. Nanny

By Jacob Lindsey

“In this uproarious comedy, former professional wrestler Hulk Hogan stars as former professional wrestler Sean Armstrong, who is lured out of retirement to serve as a bodyguard for the inventor of a critical microchip. To Sean’s horror, he soon discovers he’s also expected to serve as bodyguard (and nanny) to the inventor’s children, who attempt to drive Sean away using their usual ruthless tactics — just as they’ve driven away every other nanny!”

Wednesday Headlines: Skyrim Gets Savage… The Macho Kind

January 11th, 2012 21 comments

Feel free to write your dumb "I took an arrow to the knee" comments below, or leave them in hell where they belong. I mean, come on guys. Seriously.

Ever since I’ve taken over the Smackdown reviews (which you should totally read right here, I mean come on guys don’t be rude) I’ve had to cut down on the Headlines, because I mentally shut down if I write more then 3,000 words a week and don’t get paid for it. Okay you got me, I’m lazy, are you happy? Anyway, while the other guys are doing a fantastic job (I really mean it, they’re so good at it they’re starting to make me look bad, the assholes) with their respective days, having to share the little bit of wrestling-related news with so many people can be a tad trying. Headlines is kind of my baby and I love each of them like you probably do your children; you clearly like some more then the others but still care about them all to some extent, even that short one that’s kind of dumb and you know you won’t be setting up a college fund for. Look closely to see the TNA fans going wild for the main event.
